St Peter's Barge – London's Floating Church

Welcome to St Peter's Barge, London's only floating church, located in the heart of West India Quay.

Their aim is to help all people know God better, whatever their current stage of Christian understanding and commitment. 

Whether you are working, studying or living in London, they would love for you to join them. They love to welcome newcomers, whether you are seeking to find out more about Jesus or whether you are after a church family where you can serve and grow as a Christian.

A Brief History

Several years ago St Anne's began to run lunchtime meetings in local bars to reach out to those working in the surrounding areas. The work was developed with the support of St Helen's Bishopsgate, but further growth was hampered by the lack of a permanent venue on site.

The vision to use a barge was realised with the formation of the St Peter's Canary Wharf Trust and the purchase of a Dutch freight barge in 2003. The barge was refitted in the Netherlands and brought across the North Sea under its own power and now has a permanent mooring in West India Quay.
